Advertising & Sponsorship Disclosure Standards

Standards for transparent sponsored content and endorsements across websites, creators, social media, video, newsletters, podcasts and apps.

Effective date: October 3, 2026

Commercial relationships should be clear

Paid, gifted, commissioned or otherwise material commercial relationships should not be presented as independent editorial opinion when applicable law or platform rules require disclosure.

Clear and conspicuous placement

Disclosures should be understandable, prominent and close to the sponsored message rather than buried where an ordinary audience is unlikely to notice them.

Video and livestream disclosure

When the endorsement is delivered in video or livestream content, a disclosure may need to appear within the content itself rather than only in a description. Depending on audience and applicable rules, both audio and visual disclosure can be appropriate.

Social posts, stories and short-form content

Disclosures should be visible without relying on a hidden profile bio, an ambiguous tag or a long group of hashtags. Where content is ephemeral or visual, disclosure should remain readable long enough to be noticed.

Affiliate relationships

Affiliate publishers and creators are responsible for disclosing commission relationships where required. A discount code, brand tag or affiliate link alone may not always communicate the relationship clearly.

Truthful claims and genuine experience

Sponsored content and endorsements must not make deceptive or unsupported claims. Review-style endorsements should reflect actual experience where applicable.

User responsibility

LinxGiant provides marketplace workflow and policy guidance but does not replace legal review. Advertisers and media owners remain responsible for complying with the advertising, endorsement and platform rules that apply to their campaign and audience.
